PESHAWAR: An earthquake measuring 5 on International Richter Scale rattled Swat, Mansehra, Chitral , Gilgit-Baltistan, Ghazir and adjacent areas during midnight of Tuesday and Wednesday.

According to Met office the tremors were felt during midnight in Diamer, Chitral, Swat, Mansehra and Gilgit-Baltistan districts.

The epicenter of the quake was in the mountainous range of Hindukash in Afghanistan.

The tremors forced people in some areas to spend the chilled night in open sky.

No loss to life or property was reported.
