Lahore set to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him)

LAHORE: Like other parts of the country, Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) will be celebrated in the provincial capital on Tuesday with religious reverence and fervour, renewing a pledge to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

Markazi Committee Taqreebat Jashn-e-Eid Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W) president Malik Aftab Rabbani told APP that 10,000 Milad processions and 20,000 Seerat conferences would be held accross the country.

The biggest procession in the city will start from Jamia Rasoolia Sherazia near Data Darbar and conclude at Faisal Chowk. The day will begin with special prayers for development,
safety, peace, unity and brotherhood amongst the followers of Holy Prophet (PBUH). It will be a public holiday.

Special security arrangements have been made to maintain law and order. All major government and private buildings, plazas, markets, mosques and roundabouts have been tastefully decorated. Talking to APP, people from different walks of life said, "In the circumstances, it is the responsibility of Ulema, Mashaikh and religious leaders to understand the situation wisely and work for peace." City police has also made a comprehensive security plan for Eid-e-Miladun Nabi under which 10,000 officials would perform duties to check persons staying in hotels, bus and van stands to avert any terrorist activity.

Special measures have been taken at the entry and exit points of the city and more than 4,000 volunteers would also perform duties with the police. Over 100 Ulema, Mashaikh and scholars hailing from Sunni Ulema Board asked people to play their individual and collective role in peace on the day.

Jamaat Ehle Sunnat Ameer Mazhar Saeed Kazmi and Nazim-e-Ala Riaz Hussain Shah have said that the day gives the message of tolerance and peace. On the occasion, terrorists should surrender and start a new era of peace and prosperity in the country, they added.
