Senate passes resolution to pay tributes to Ch Aslam, Hussain

ISLAMABAD: Senate, the Upper House of the Parliament Friday unanimously passed a resolution to pay tribute to Chaudhry Aslam and Aitezaz Hussain who both were killed in separate militant attacks.

During the session, Leader of the House Raja Zafar ul Haq, while paying tribute to the deceased police officer Chaudhry Aslam, said that he sacrificed his life to protect the citizens.

Earlier, Awami National Party (ANP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) staged a walkout of the Senate session, over the killing of senior police officer Chaudhry Aslam Khan in a terror attack in Karachi on Thursday and what they alleged as failure of the Sindh government to establish law and order in the city.

ANP Senator Shahi Syed said brave police officer Chaudhry Aslam had been killed and that the government's writ in the city was gradually diminishing as the people in uniform were directly becoming target of terrorists.

Senator Hamza urged the House to approve the name of Chaudhry Aslam for the highest civil award.

The House also prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss with fortitude.
