PESHAWAR: A police head constable on duty was killed and SHO with three other cops injured in two different incidents of armed attacks on police parties in Peshawar on Wednesday.

In the first incident, some unknown armed men opened fire on a police check post situated in a posh locality of Peshawar killing head constable and injuring another.

The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Peshawar University town police station. Unknown gunmen opened indiscriminate fire on a check post as a result of which head constable was killed on the spot while another received serious injuries, police official of University town told.

The dead body of decease official was taken to hospital for legal medico requirements. The treatment of injured police personnel underway in the hospital, police said. Police initiated search operation and investigation.

Separately, Station House Officer of Bana Mari Police Station in interior city Peshawar along with two other police personnel was injured by firing of unknown assailants while going to police station.

According to police, unidentified assailants opened firing on the vehicle of SHO Hameed Khan, when he was on the way to office from home in the limit of Paharipura police station. As result, the SHO, his bodyguards Constables Zahid and Siraj sustained wounds. The injured were rushed to hospital for treatment.
