MINGORA: Some unknown persons shot dead Union Council’s ex-Naib Nazim, Shah Zaman at Shahdara on Tuesday here.

Police said that the incident occurred this morning in Shahdara area, when the deceased Shah Zaman was sitting inside his shop and some unknown persons opened aimless firing that seriously injured Shah Zaman, who was rushed to Saidu Sharif Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police have started a search operation in the area and hunting for the accused.

Shah Zaman was elected Naib Nazim of Union Council from Shahdara in 2005 local bodies elections.
