NELSON: New Zealand beat the West Indies by 58 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis system after rain washed out play during the West Indies innings here Saturday.

New Zealand made 285-6 in their 50 overs and the West Indies were 134-5 when rain stopped play after 33.4 overs.

New Zealand lead the series 2-1 with the final match to be played in Hamilton next Wednesday.
