Govt. has no authority to remove Musharraf’s name from ECL: Baligh
ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Education, Training, Standards in Higher Education and Interior Engineer Muhammad Baligh-ur- Rehman Friday said the government could not remove the name of former President Gen Pervaiz Musharraf (Retd) from Exit Control List (ECL). Talking to media outside Parliament House, he said court was the appropriate authority to remove the name of Pervaiz Musharraf from the ECL.
He said government would not send former President Gen Pervaiz Musharraf (Retd) abroad and there was no pressure from any quarter in this regard. The former president would have to defend the cases instituted against him.
Replying to a question, he said the government is concerned about the problems of the people regarding the scarcity of natural gas and trying its best to overcome the crisis. The government of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz has taken concrete steps to overcome the crisis.
The import of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) from Qater would start from Nov.2014.
During the last 15 years the successive governments have shown criminal negligence for not taking steps to overcome gas scarcity.
