Memogate: SC to begin hearing on July 12

ISLAMABAD: After the submission of final report from the memo commission,  Supreme court will begin the hearing of infamous memogate scandal on July 12, Aaj news reported.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan also issued notices to Hussain Haqqani, former Pakistani ambassador to US, Mansoor Ijaz, American businessman, and others in memo case.

A nine-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry will hear the case on July 12.

Earlier, on June 12 Haqqani was found guilty in the report of memo commission prepared under the head of Chief justice Balochistan high court Justice Qazi Faiz Essa.

The commission investigating the Infamous Memogate Scandal presented the report in Supreme court, in which it was written that Hussain Haqqani is indeed guilty of authoring the memo, and the reason behind it was to prove that the Pakistani government as ‘US- friendly’.
