LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly witnessed a rare event whereby female MPAs hurled shoes at Sheikh Alauddin on Wednesday.

The proceedings of Punjab Assembly started on Wednesday afternoon, later to convert in to a “fish market”. Woman MPAs were seen hurling their shoe towards Unification Bloc leader, Sheikh Alauddin, amid his vulgar comments about women MPAs during the Punjab Assembly session.

Seemal Kamran of PML-Q, along with another woman MPA, was seen throwing a shoe towards Alauddin following the inappropriate remarks from the Unification Bloc leader. A chaos was created soon after whereby the women MPAs were seen protesting and chanting against Alauddin.

All this was happening and Speaker Rana Mohammad Iqbal, seemed helpless in the entire scenario. PML-Q Parliamentary leader, Chaudhry Zaheeruddin, demanded an action against the one throwing the shoe along with a formal apology from Alauddin for his disgraceful remarks.

Following the commotion, the speaker instructed the removal of Alauddin’s comments from the day’s events and further vowed to suspend the MPAs involved in the “shoe throwing” fiasco.
