PM disqualification: PPP to consult coalition partners
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party's General Secretary, Jahangir Badar, has stated that their party would give a decision after consulting its coalition parties following the Supreme Court's verdict on Tuesday.
Jahangir Badar was addressing a press conference along with Qamar Zaman Kaira and Raja Pervez Ashraf on Tuesday. The press conference was conducted following the party's Central Executive Committee's (CEC) meeting.
Jahangir Badar stated that their party members were informed of the PM's disqualification after the CEC meeting and they have decided to take a decision in this regard after consulting their coalition partners.
Both, Jahangir Badar and Qamar Zaman Kaira, stated that the CEC had handed over the decision authority of Asif Zardari following the PM's disqualification and that the President would be announcing the decision with respect to the new Prime Minister.
During the press conference, Qamar Zaman Kaira, urged PPP party workers to remain calm following the Court's verdict.
