PM calls for energy conference following violent Punjab protests
Following the violent protests throughout Punjab and other parts of the country, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has called for an Energy Conference on Tuesday, Aaj News reported.
The PM is in Saudi Arab for two days to attend the funeral of Crown Prince Naif.
According to sources, PM Gilani took notice of the ongoing protests over consistent load-shedding and called upon the Water and Power and Petroleum Ministers to look into the matter.
The PM is expected to arrive back on Monday night and chair the Energy Conference tomorrow, on Tuesday.
Angered protesters abandoned their daily routines to form rallies and protest against the discriminatory long load-shedding hours in various parts of Sindh, KP and Punjab as law enforcers stood as spectators.
