“Murdered Neurosurgeon’s case resolved†– DIG Crime Branch
HYDERABAD: According to a recent statement released by DIG Crime Branch, Farhat Junejo, the kidnapping and murder case of Neurosurgeon Dr. Aftab Qureshi has been resolved. The DIG gave this statement on Saturday.
As per the DIG’s statement, the kidnapping and the murder of the renowned Neurosurgeon involved 11 individuals including a woman. Six culprits in the case have yet been arrested and it has been reported that 2 of the arrested people worked at the clinic of Dr. Aftab Qureshi.
The DIG also stated that the operation to rescue Dr. Aftab was carried out without informing the local police of that particular region. Further talking about the rescue operation, the DIG stated, “The bullet striking Dr. Aftab could have been a mistake of a police officialâ€. Police recovered an Ashok named doctor during the rescue operation. The DIG while talking about Dr. Ashok stated that he (Ashok) was a double agent and the main kidnaper.
Renowned Neurosurgeon Dr. Aftab Qureshi was shot down on May 30 during a rescue operation carried out by CPLC and another senior police official. The kidnappers had asked for Rs1 00 million ransom for releasing the Neurosurgeon.
