Ijaz terms Memogate report a ‘Victory of Truth’

Pleasing over the Haqqani’s ‘one-sided’ report of Memo commission, Mansoor Ijaz termed it the “victory of truth and justice”.

In a statement, Mansoor Ijaz said that, The Memo commission’s report proved his truth he has been speaking for the day the case started.

Proving himself an honest man, Ijaz said that nation should be thankful to him and celebrate the moment of victory.

Responding to the report, Ijaz appreciated the decision of probing Commission to record his statement abroad via the video link, particularly praising the decisions of Justice Qazi Faiz Esa, the head of Commission.

“Speaking the truth was a moral compulsion for me – it brought harm to my family, my business interests and my political relationships.  But the value of the truth I spoke outweighed all of these considerations.”

Besides, Ex-ambassador, Hussain Haqqani decided to challenge the report calling it "one sided".

The memo scandal was unearthed when Pakistani-American businessman Mansoor Ijaz claimed last year of having received a message from Haqqani to deliver a confidential memo to US Admiral Mike Mullen, to avert a possible military takeover and promised concessions in return.

The report stated that being an ambassador, it did not suit Haqqani to give such assurances to a foreign country.
