Balochistan unrest: Govt formulated 6-members committee

After a long meeting between the Prime Minster Yousaf Raza Gilani, COAS Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani and other officials it was decided to formulate a Six member committee on Balochistan issues, Aaj news reported.

Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira on Tuesday said that the high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani discussed six dimensions of the Balochistan issue and missing persons cases in depth.

He said that the meeting discussed in detail the operational, developmental, administrative, legal, political and financial aspects of the situation.

Kaira said a six-member steering committee was also formed which would hold meetings on a weekly basis and submit its report to the prime minister. He said the committee would consist of three members each from the Federal Government and the Balochistan Government.

The meeting was also attended by DG ISI Lieutenant General Zaheer ul Islam, DG IB Aftab Sultan, Chief Minister and Governor Balochistan, Inspector General Balochistan and other higher officials.
