Sindh govt. to challenge SHC decision on LG elections

SUKKUR: The Sindh Government announced on Sunday it would challenge a Sindh High Court’s decision to hold the local body elections in the province within three months.
Speaking to journalists at Sukkur Airport on Sunday, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah said election’s preparation would take time as even electoral lists were not yet finalized.
The chief minister said his government would file an appeal against the ruling to hold the local body election in three months.
Shah claimed PML-N is way behind the PPP in Sindh.
He said PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif could not garner the support of any key figure from Sindhbarring Mumtaz Bhutto.
To a question, he said those nationalists who are now joining hands with Nawaz Sharif, were his critic in the past.
Earlier on May 18, Sindh High Court (SHC) directed the Sindh Government to conduct local body elections, in 90 days.
