Gilani attends British Parliament's Joint Session

LONDON: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani attended the Joint Session of British Parliament on Wednesday.

The Joint Session was addressed by Her Majesty the Queen.

Prime Minister Gilani was the only Head of Government who was specially invited to attend the session. Pakistan’s High Commissioner to UK Wajid Shamsul Hassan also accompanied the Prime Minister on this occasion.

PM Gilani also addressed the British Parliament. While addressing the Parliament, Gilani stated that Pakistan has a firm stance towards peace and stability within the region. He further stated that Pakistan would try its level best to restore peace within the region.

“We would never let our land to be used against some other country,” stated Gilani.

With respect to Afghanistan, Gilani said that the solution of Afghanistan’s problem lies within the country itself.

“Pakistan is strongly in favour of having better bilateral relationship with both Afghanistan and India,” Gilani further uttered.(APP)
