Gabol urges judicial probe into Lyari operation
KARACHI: Former Ports and Shipping Minister, Nabeel Gabol, has requested the Prime Minister and the Presdient for a judicial probe over the Lyari operation. Gabol made this demand while writing a letter to the head of the states on Monday.
Gabol has stated that a transparent investigation should be carried out with respect to the death of innocent people who lost their lives in the operation. Gabol stated that he had an acquaintance with few of the deceased and considered them to be not guilty of any criminal offence.
With regards to compensation, Gabol demanded one million rupees compensation for the families of the deceased and half a million for the families of the injured individuals.
Nabeel further stated that the Lyari operation had been halted to ease the civilians within the region further asserting that the miscreants should not consider this to be government’s weakness. “A strict operation against the miscreants will soon be continued in Lyari,†added the former Minister.
