Miscreants in Lyari have 48 hours to surrender: Malik

“We have put an end to the Lyari operation” stated Rahman Malik while talking to media officials on Friday. The Interior Minister was accompanied by IG Sindh, Mushtaq Shah.

With respect to halting the Lyari operation, the Interior Minister stated that the miscreants were given a 48 hours ultimatum to surrender.

“Exact time with respect to a combine operation from police and Rangers can not be told at this instance”, asserted Malik

Bullet-proof cars and police officials have been called back from the conflicted zone i.e. “Cheel Chowk”, “Gabol Park” and “Afshani Gali”.

“Miscreants in Lyari do not want and end to the operation” stated Malik. “The peace proposal forwarded by the government to the troublemakers in Lyari was answer by rockets being fired at the police, which clearly states that the miscreants do not want an end to this operation and would not surrender,” Malik further added.

Government has now realized that forceful activities would not be enough to put an end to the Lyari matter. The government has formed a committee comprising of Food Minister Nadir Magsi and Ayatullah Durrani to try and end the Lyari matter through negotiations.
