SC delays hearing in Babar Awan's contempt case
ISLAMABAD: Babar Awan's contempt case, to be heard on Tuesday, was adjourned till April 26 as the former Federal Law Minister's counsel was absent from the court.
The two-member bench of the apex court, hearing Awan's case, included Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan and Justice Athar Saeed. The bench was to frame contempt charge against Babar Awan for his taunting remarks against the judiciary while talking to the media.
Awan asserted the teasing remarks following the appointment of Tariq Khosa to investigate the memo scandal.
Mr. Awan was present in the court but did not speak in his counsel's absence and requested the bench to adjourn the hearing.
The hearing was later adjourned till April 26, Thursday.
