GB govt forms Ulema Council for restoration of peace
Gilgit Baltistan Minister for Law Wazir Shakil said that Gilgit Baltistan's government has formed an Ulema Council to work for the restoration of peace and eradication of sectarianism in the area.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said that at least 33 hostages have been released from the custody of abductors in Nagar area of Gilgit Baltistan.
He expressed happiness over the release of 33 hostages and said that majority of the residents are peace-loving.
He said that there are few miscreants, who want to disrupt peace in the region.
He said that the government is facing worst law and order at present as no action has been taken against the miscreants during the last 20Â years.
He said "We should spread education and awareness among the public". Permanent check should be kept on those who are exploiting religion and promoting sectarianism among the Muslims, he proposed.
