Crack down against gas theft in Sindh, Balochistan
KARACHI: Sui Southern Gas Company has started a crack down against the gas theft across country, Aaj news reported.
A report pointed out 21,000 illegal users of gas in Sindh and Balochistan. While 2000 were reported particularly in Karachi.
Earlier on Tuesday, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) unearthed and disconnected more than 900 illegal gas connections in different parts of  Faisalabad.
A spokesman of the SNGPL told that these gas connections were made in Arshad Town, Fahid Town, Sindhu Town, Chak No.73-GB, Bismillah Town and their adjacent localities for a long time ago without the approval of the concerned department.
The SNGPL teams detached all these illegal connections while applications were also moved to the concerned police stations for registration of cases against the gas pilferers, he added.
