President Zardari calls for zero tolerance to money extortion (Bhatta), street crimes
President Asif Ali Zardari today called for zero tolerance to all street crimes and zero tolerance to extortion (Bhatta khori) in Karachi which he said had paralyzed the life of ordinary citizens in the city and in this connection directed to equip the police with aerial patrolling equipment as well as heavy duty armored personnel carriers (APCs).
The President gave these instructions during a meeting on law and order at Bilawal House Karachi that was attended by Governor Sindh, Chief Minister, Interior Minister Rahman Malik, provincial home minister Manzoor Wassan, provincial ministers Syed Murad Ali Shah, Muhammad Ayaz Soomro and Agha Siraj Khan Durrani, IG Police, DG Rangers, DG IB and senior federal and provincial government officials.
