Memo hearing adjourned until SC passes order on Haqqani’s plea

The hearing of memo gate scandal resumed in Islamabad high court here on Monday, Aaj news reported.

According to the case progress today, Chief Justice Balochistan High court remarked that Hussain Haqqani must obey the constitution and come back to pakistan as he signed the undertaking to do so.

Counsel for Haqqani, Zahid bukhari replied that his client fears for the safety of his life so he refused to come back. He requested the court to record his statement via the video link but his application is not yet proceeded.

A three-member bench, headed by Balochistan High Court Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, resumed hearing the case today at the Islamabad High Court premises.
The sources told that until the court did decide on haqqani's request, Haqqani would continue to stay abroad.

On the otherside, Chairman of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation front ,Yasin Malik also appeatred before the court today to the clarify allegations made against him by Mansoor Ijaz.
Petitioner to the memo case, Barrister Mohammad Zafarullah Khan has objected to Yasin Malik being made a party to the court proceedings claiming that Yasin Malik has no connection with the memo case and Malik’s participation would serve to stretch the case.
Later the court allowed Yasin Malik to record his statement.

The hearing was adjourned till the supreme court passes orders on the plea of Hussain Haqani.
