Waheeda Shah case hearing adjourned till March 28

Supreme Court here on Monday adjourned the hearing of the suo motu case against the PPP candidate Waheeda Shah disqualification regarding the assault at Tando Mohammad Khan polling station.

A three-member bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Khilji Arif Husain and Justice Tariq Parvez resumed hearing of the case initiated on the application of Anita Turab, a government official.

The court again ordered to hold back the promotions of all the police officers. the court slammed DIG regarding the shoulder promotion of police officers in the country saying that the court has already stopped all the promotions.
During the today's proceedings, DIG Mirpur Khas informed the apex court that, Challan against Waheeda Shah has been presented in the civil court.
Then the case hearing was adjourned till March 28.

Earlier, the Election Commission of Pakistan has been declared Waheeda Shah as guilty of election rules' violations and disqualified her for two years.

The supreme court has also took notice of Torture on a teacher in Sarghoda.
