An acid throwing incident was reported earlier today in Pakistan's textile epicenter, the city of Faisalabad, where an 18 year old girl named Nabeela threw acid on her boyfriend of 2 years.

According to Nabeela's statements, this was a crime of passion. Speaking about her boyfriend Mohsin Qadeer, the victim, she said "He made promises to marry me for about 2-3 years, but then started to ignore me and pay attention to other girls in his life"  “This motivated me to throw acid on Mohsin in revenge”, she added.

Nabeela is currently in police custody in Marzi Pura police station. The victim Mohsin Qadeer has suffered minor burns to his eyes but since the acid was not concentrated he is believed to recover quickly said a police official.
