The Interior Minister Rehman Malik announced the regularization of 14,000 employees of NADRA. The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), was directed  by the Interior Minister Rehman Malik, to regularize the contracted NADRA employees who have been protesting since late last year.

He claimed that PPP has not deprived anyone of his job during their tenure. he said that there were some legal complications which were causing obstacles in the way of making the Nadra employees permanent.

During a meeting between NADRA execs and the Interior Ministry where recommendations were made by NADRA officials to the Ministry.

After going through the legal aspects of it all and Rehman Malik's approval of these recommendations, a notification to regularize all contract employees will be issued.

Boasting his party's name he said PPP gave these jobs to the people and it will ensure that they still have it. “All employees of Nadra whose contracts have been expired since October 17, 2011, are now made permanent,” he said.
