Contempt Case: Aitzaz asks for three witnesses in application

Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan who is the attorney for Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani in the contempt of court case, has submitted his reply in evidence to the Supreme Court today.

He submitted an application in the Supreme Court requesting it to allow witnesses in the contempt of court case, today.

The application stated that the Prime Minister be allowed to bring in three people as his witnesses, Defence Secretary Nargis Sethi, former law minister Babar Awan and Secretary Law Mohammad Masood Chisti.

The application also asked that the summaries sent by Seceratary and and Minister of Law which advised him "not to write the letter to Swiss administration" be included in the hearing of the case, the summaries were released on May 21, 2010 and September 21, 2010.

During last hearing, Attorney General Molvi Anwar-ul-Haq, who is prosecutor in the case, submitted evidences to the court against the prime minister.

The Prime Minister's counsel, Aitzaz Ahsan has a task to defend his client from the evidence submitted by the Attorney General and submit his own reply to those evidences today.

The hearing will continue on Tuesday the 28th of February, before the seven-member bench of  the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
