Gold surged by Rs 558 to close at Rs 51,600 per 10 grams in the local market Thursday as its international price improved to $ 1,777 an ounce, market sources said.

According to Karachi Saraf Association official, tola (11.664 grams) price also jumped up by Rs 650 to at Rs 60, 200.

Silver closed higher at Rs 947.14 per 10 grams.
