PM’s contempt case hearing adjourned till Feb 28
Supreme court adjourned the contempt case hearing against Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani till February 28, here on Wednesday, Aaj news reported.
During the course of proceedings on Wednesday‚ Attorney General Maulvi Anwarul Haq presented before the court the list of the certified documentary evidences on behalf of prosecution against the prime minister in the contempt of court case.
The documents, which were presented, included the National Reconciliation Ordinance primary verdict and the order on the subsequent review appeal by the federal government. The evidence was earlier presented by the prosecution. The court has included the documents in the case records.
Counsel of Prime Minister‚ Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan will submit a list of witnesses along with their statements in the case on February 27.
A seven-member bench of apex court headed by Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk and comprising Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany, Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry, Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Muhammad Ather Saeed would examine the proofs submitted by the Attorney General against the prime minister.
It is worth mentioning here that on February 16, Attorney General submitted four volumes of documentary evidence before the Supreme Court in the prime minister’s contempt of court case.
