I phoned BB about threats: Musharraf

Former President and ex-army chief Pervez Musharraf said that he had informed late Benazir Bhutto about the threats she faces, over the telephone before her arrival to Pakistan.

In response to Interior Minister Rehman Malik's statements in Sindh Assembly where he said that the former President failed to provide the former Prime Minister with satisfactory security.

“Benazir did not consider me to be a threat” Musharraf said.
He said that BB's security was originally the provincial governments responsibility and her primary security was handled by PPP workers.
In a tit for tat reply, the former president raised the question regarding who had asked Benazir Bhutto to come out of the sun roof of the jeep she was traveling in prior to her assassination.

Musharraf further said that he had met Benazir twice in Dubai but had not spoken to her since October 18.

“Rehman Malik was not present during these meetings” Musharraf added.

Talking about his return to Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf said he was willing to face the courts.
