Atleast 29 killed in Jamrud blast

A bomb explosion killed at least 27 people and wounded more than 30 others in a market in Jamrud on Tuesday, officials said.

The explosion took place in Jamrud, one of the towns of Khyber tribal region, which also used to serve as the main supply route for NATO forces in Afghanistan.

According to the sources, The bomb was planted in a Datsan vehicle while seven other vehicles were also destroyed.

The police found two more missiles from the spot.

The Zana khail group was targeted in the blast, Assistant political authority, Muhammad Jamil said.

The injured were shifted to the HMC hospital. Six deadbodies and 22 injured were shifted to the Hayatabad Medical complex.

The police cordoned off the area for further investigation.

The Pak-afghan highway was also closed due to the blast.
