14 people killed in Gujranawala land dispute
Fourteen people including seven children and four women were killed over a land dispute between families in peliwala area, Gujranwala on Thursday.
While Five people were also wounded.
According to police, Javed and Amjad groups had a property dispute. Javed group had allegedly killed two men of Amjad group about two months ago. On Thursday, men of Javed group shot Saifullah, Amjad's brother, and his guard Usman dead.
In retaliation, men of Amjad group attacked the house of Javed and set it on fire. Later, the assailants entered in the house of Irshad of Javed group and opened fire at the inmates. They killed three women and four children and set the bodies on fire after dousing them with petrol.
The killed were identified as Saifullah and Usman (guard); Maria d/o Ejaz, Hafia d/o Azam, Irshad Bibi w/o Ejaz, Tanzeela w/o Asif and her children Fajar, Hajra and Abdullah. Farah w/o Irshad and her children Khushi Muhammad and Abdullah.
On information, the CPO and a heavy contingent of police reached the spot.
Police told that Javed group and Saifullah group were having rivalry over a piece of land and claimed that some suspects have also been arrested from the scene.
