Kate Winslet wax statue displays at Madame Tussauds

Kate Winslet’s curves have been immortalised in wax as the actress took her place in Madame Tussauds.

The Titanic star is a new A-list addition to the wax work museum’s hall of fame in London.

The model has been placed with fellow Oscar winners and British acting talents such as Dame Helen Mirren and Dame Judi Dench.

Madame Tussauds’ model makers spent months perfecting the scarily life-like replica of the 36-year-old actress.

She has been recreated wearing the red cap-sleeved Elie Saab dress which she wore to the Emmy Awards ceremony earlier this year.

Winslet won the Best Actress gong for her title role in the mini-series Mildred Pierce.

As with her tearful Oscars acceptance speech in 2009, Kate failed to control her emotions as she accepted the award.

She punched the air as she jumped out of her seat then took to the stage and screamed: 'Oh ok. Oh look I really did win it.Thank you so so much this means such a great deal.'

Other recent additions to the London museum include a wax statue of popstar Rihanna, which took four months to complete and cost £150,000.

The model stands alongside Britney Spears, Lady Gaga and the late Amy Winehouse in the museum's music section.
