Rains continue to cripple life in Sindh
Relentless rain continued to play havoc with life and brought misery across Sindh, killing atleast 19 people in rain related incidents.
The Met Office has forecast more heavy rains in interior Sindh and Karachi for next few days.
The stagnant Rainwater caused many viral diseases in the province, adding to the plight of the people already facing severe difficulties in the wake of relentless rains.
Rain water entered houses of Latifabad, qasimabad, Preetabad, Sabzi mandi and other areas of the city, caused heavy loss of life and material goods.
Farmers demanded of the provincial government to declare more areas calamity-hit. They also demanded free seeds to cultivate four million acres of wheat crop, 1 million acres of sunflower and different varieties of pulses on 300,000 acres.
Flood affected people of Nawabshah  staged a sit in front of the municipal head office against insufficient aid from the government.
Recent rains have claimed 30 lives in Sanghar while 500 were reported injured. The rains have also destroyed more than 37,000 houses in the area.
In Jamshoro due to heavy rains, at least three people were killed after roof of a dilapidated mud and stone house caved in.
In Tando Hyder, a child was killed while a woman was injured when a wall of a house collapsed. Two children were also killed in Sanghar in roof collapse of a house.
The National highway of  Hyderabad to Thatta was drowned in as a result of unprecedented heavy rainfalls in the area on Monday night, eventually disconnected land-route of Jhirak.
On the other hand, water-borne diseases were on the rise in the province especially in rains and flood-hit areas and three persons have been killed of epidemics so far.
Rainwater has accumulated on the premises of the grid station in Mirpurkhas.
Construction of a sand dyke around the grid station was started to save it while two heavy pumping machines were installed to drain out the water.
The SDO of the grid station, Mr Ramesh, told reporters that if machinery at the grid station was damaged, power supply would be suspended for a long time to Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar and Umerkot districts.Grid stations of Tando Jan Mohammad and Naoko have already been flooded.
According to the sources, 95% areas of Saheed Benazir Bhutto district has drowned into flood water.
The Army and the Navy continued their relief and rescue operations, providing shelter, food and medical treatment.
