Police and Rangers jointly conducted search operation in various parts of the metropolis on late Tuesday, and arrested 35 suspects while recovered weapons from their possessions.

According to the details, the operation was launched in Orangi Town, Kati Pahari, Malir, Esa Nagri and adjoining areas. During the search operation atleast 35 suspects were detained.

Police and Rangers arrested four suspects from Muhammad pur, three from an apartment near Esa nagri and others from Orangi town.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik also visited the areas of Lyari and Kati Pahari. He told media representatives that the operation would be conducted in all the areas where terrorists were present.

Earlier, heavy contingent of Police and Rangers were deployed in Lyari. Due to the resistance showed by the residents by torching tyres on the streets operation was not carried out.

Meanwhile, unidentified men opened fire in Agra Taj area of Lyari, injuring six people, which were rushed to Civil Hospital.
