Twin Blasts kill Seven in Peshawar: Police
Twin blasts have killed seven people including four policemen and wounded 25 other people near Lahori Gate, Peshawar early Thursday.
According to police sources, two female suicide bombers blew themselves up in the area who wanted to target high-ranked police offcials.
The first blast occurred in a planted bomb targeting a police van in Peshawar killed four policemen and a child while 17 got injured, officials said.
"At least four policemen and a school child have been killed and wounding dozens of people in the attack," said Muhammad Faisal, a senior police official in the area.
While, a second explosion has occurred near a police check-post killed a woman and wounded eight others.
Police official Tariq Khan says authorities suspect two female suicide bombers were trying to attack police in the area.
He says it appears that one woman detonated her vest and the other died alongside her, while several people nearby were wounded.
The injured have been shifted to the Lady Riding hospital and Security had swarmed the area.
