NEPRA allows increasing power tariff by Rs1.4 per unit

Power consumers in Karachi would have to bear another increase in electricity cost as National Electric Power Regulatory Authority(NEPRA) has approved Rs 1.4 per unit increase in the power tariff on the first Ramadan.

The charges will be implemented from the month of June, And the consumers have to pay additional charges in the month of July.

Earlier, electric and power companies recommended the increase in power prices by Rs. 1.13.

It is noted that the power utility has already increased the duration of load-shedding to more than 12 hours a day and owing to indifferent attitude of the KESC management the residents of various apartment buildings in the city had been facing serious hardships, including shortage of water supply.
