Ch Shujaat persuades MQM to reconcile with govt

President, Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q), Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain  in his visit to Nine  Zero late Tuesday persuaded his old-time ally Muttahida Qaumi movement to return to the coalition fold as desired by President Asif Ali Zardari.

Chaudhry Shujaat, whose party is now a part of the PPP government at the centre, held a meeting with members of the MQM coordination committee.

Dr Sattar informed him about several steps taken by the government following the MQM decision to sit on the opposition benches in the parliament and in Sindh assembly.

Chaudhary Shujaat said  that heads of all political parties in the country should sit together in Karachi to jointly resolve Karachi situation through dialogue.

He told a questioner that his party “Q-League” is not interested in  Governorship of the province of Sindh. Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain advised that all political entities should work together and should avoid leveling allegations against each other.
He said that his party has yet not made any decision about restoration of Commissionerate System.
The President of Q-league told another questioner that Pakistan Army is an institution and part of the country.
MQM representative Wasay Jalil said Chaudhry Shujaat had expressed his desire to visit Nine Zero. The MQM members Shujaat met included Farooq Sattar, Mustafa Kamal, Wasay Jalil, Raza Haroon, Waseem Aftab, Dr Sahgeer Ahmed and Nasreen Jalil.
