Three prisoners were killed and 16 police men were injured as scuffle erupted at Sukkur central jail due to the unavailability of necessities earlier today.

The prisoners also took FC personnel hostage. Police opened fire and shelled prisoners to control the situation.

According to the sources, A heated argument between officials and prisoners at central jail one escalated into a fight. The prisoners snatched weapons from the officials and tried to hold them captive and also caused damage to the barracks.

The injured has been taken to the near hospitals. While an operation is currently underway at the jail.
