Protesting AJK Elections: MQM Ministers resigned
The federal and provincial ministers belonging to the MQM has sent their resignations to President Asif Ali zardari here on Tuesday due to the undemocratic instance of the federal government regarding Azad Jammu Kashmir elections.
According to the sources, Senator Baber Ghori, Farooq sattar and DR. Nadeem has sent their resignations to President zardari. While Governor Sindh DR. Ishrat-ul-Ibad has forwarded his resignation to the president yesterday now he has left for London.
According to Dr. Farooq Sattar, MQM leadership reached the conclusion that it was no longer possible for the party to continue functioning as part of the Pakistan People’s Party-led coalition government, keeping in view its undemocratic and dictatorial attitude.
Farooq Sattar said PPP was unwilling to mend its ways leaving MQM with no other option but to quit the coalition government, adding that from now on MQM lawmakers in federal and provincial assemblies would sit on opposition benches.
“MQM ministers were powerless and not allowed to work independently,†Farooq Sattar said and added that issues were raised in core committees with the PPP leadership on regular basis but to no avail.
MQM coordination committee member Anis kaim khani said "MQM is not afraid of threats and fears. Its not 1993, today Media and judiciary are free and fair".
Meanwhile MQM Sindh ministers have sent their resignations to acting Governor Nisar Khurro.
