KPK budget of Rs.249 billion announced
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government presented the provincial budget of over Rs 249 billion for the fiscal year 2011-12 today.
Sources told that, around Rs 79 billion allocate for the Annual Development Programme (ADP), out of which development funds worth over Rs 5 billion were allocated for the health sector while funds of only Rs 6 billion were set aside for the education sector.
Around Rs 69 billion were allocated for the 2010-11 ADP. Sources said development funds for the Tameer Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Programme are 2 million for each member of the assembly.
Around Rs. 25 million is set to build the hydral power plant (84 mega watt).
Provincial Minister for Finance Muhammad Hamayun Khan will present the budget in the provincial assembly. Total outlay of the budget last year was over Rs 294 billion while the ADP funds amounted to Rs 69.3 billion.
The government has also decided to provide special funds to five districts including tank, kohaat, laki marwat, bunir and buttgram, and a special development package to Tor Ghur, the newly established district.
The government has also decided to build 200 new primary schools in the province, and it also likely to increase salaries of the government servants by 15 percent and pension from 20 to 25 percent.
