Present govt transforms Pakistan as welfare state through BISP:Farzana Raja
Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Ms Farzana Raja said Sunday that the present government has transformed Pakistan into a welfare state by launching the programme for financial support of the poor. She was addressing at the inauguration of Livestock Insurance Scheme here. She said the biggest achievement of BISP is its undertaking of a Poverty Survey which is the biggest such survey in Asia.
Ms Raja said it has been planned to impart vocational training to 150,000 boys and girls in a year.
She said BISP’s “Waseela- e- Haq†scheme offers Rs 300,000 long term interest-free snap shell assistance to selected beneficiaries, to be recovered in 15 years.
