Govt has ability and vision to resolve all issuesPrime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Saturday said the government has the ‘ability and the vision’ and will take along all state institutions to resolve issues confronting the country.
"The military, the parliament and the political leadership are one and stand together," he told reporters after performing the ground breaking of Phase-II Rs 735 million Lehtrar road.
The prime minister who after getting reports of an abortive attack on the military headquarters in Rawalpindi, said he would be holding a meeting with the Chief of Army Staff soon to discuss the Kerry Lugar bill.
Addressing the gathering the prime minister said development of infrastructure was a priority of the government and all necessary funds were being diverted for this purpose.
He directed CDA to complete development projects in the federal capital and ensure that the city is of international standards. He said it was vital that all such facilities were available here to attract foreign investment and the city has quality hotels, parks and other ancillary facilities.
Prime Minister Gilani directed the Capital Development Authority to make special arrangements to ensure clean drinking water to its citizens. He also asked to make the city clean and green. He said there was a need to have education city, IT Park and Traders Spots to generate employment.
Gilani taking notice of unplanned development in the city directed the CDA to take strict action against illegal construction in any zone of the city.
He also directed the authority to provide basic facilities at the 'katchi abadis'.
The event was attended by Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi, Minister for power Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Babar Awan.
Chairman CDA Imtiaz Anayat Ilahi gave details of the project.
Prime Minister earlier performed the ground breaking of dualisation of Lehtrar road. The road will be dualised from the "Captain Naeem Tufail shaheed Road" - "tramri chowk" to PINSTECH and will eventually serve as an alternate road to Azad Kashmir.
