I am all set for playing good cricket: Yousaf
Pakistan Cricket team’s most reliable batsman, Muhammad Yousaf said he is all set to support the team in the second test against South Africa by demonstrating his usual style of good cricket.
“I was in lay off for couple of months in which I did not play cricket but during the past five days I did my best to be in good fitness to play my usual style of good cricketâ€, he told APP on the eve of second test here on Sunday.
Yousaf said he will be endeavouring to score maximum runs to lead to success.
“I rate my team favourite for winning the test and at Karachi it did not do that bad either “, he said.
“The second test will be not that easy for the South African team as our players are now more focused and prepared for a challengeâ€, he said adding “ Now we have Inzamam ul Haq there who can be a threat to the opponentsâ€, he said.
He said Pakistan team is doing better with each passing day and it is confident of its bright future.
“As far as myself is concerned this test will be my first game after a break but I am confident to play my usual style of good cricket, the way I was doing in the past “, he added.
He said he knows that people will be expecting a lot from him and he will try to come up to their expectations.
“Patient and keeping yourself away from pressure is the key to success in the test cricket and I have been playing cricket with my head down without fearing the status of opponents and that is why I was able to score maximum runs last year and gained the honour of top scorer in the test cricket for which I am thankful to God “, he asserted.
Yousaf said young captain Shoaib Malik is doing a fine job and he has a bright future as a captain.
“He is a good batsman and a bowler and in the role of a all rounder and a captain he can be an asset for the team in years to come “, he maintained.
He said South Africans team was in a high mood after their success at Karachi in the first test but Pakistan team has all the potential to level the series by winning the Lahore test.
“The opponents have some good players like Smith, Kallis and Steyn but again I would say we have a batting line and bowling attack, both pace and spin and I am confident of my teams victory “, he added.
