This is apropos a Business Recorder news item "Notices issued to PM, sons" carried by the newspaper yesterday. The report says that the Supreme Court of Pakistan has issued notices to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his two sons Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz, asking them to fully cooperate with the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) during probe into the Panamagate case.
The notices were issued through Secretary to Prime Minister and Advocate on Record.
It has also been reported that Supreme Court on Friday while sending copies of the order sheet on the Panama Papers allegations sought nominees from head of the six departments for the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) within seven days.
The situation clearly shows that the prime minister has received a reprieve from country's apex court, his ordeal is not over yet. That the judges of the apex court have acted quite responsibly and efficiently is a fact. Unfortunately, however, the judgment in the Panamagate case has given birth to vicious bickering among politicians. All of them are required to act prudently lest they cause greater political instability in the country.
