Federal Cabinet meeting approves Hajj policy 2017

ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet at its meeting in Islamabad on Wednesday approved Hajj policy 2017.

The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif directed the Ministry of Religious Affairs to fully facilitate the pilgrims.

Nawaz Sharif also asked the ministry to review the Hajj expenditures and present them before the next cabinet meeting.

Prime Minister said government is committed to provision of housing facility to the poor.

He said urbanization is continuing at a rapid pace due to developmental activities in the country.

He said it is need of the hour to cater to the housing demand  across the country.

The meeting approved recommendation of Cabinet Committee on Energy regarding lifting of moratorium on gas connections.

Execution of Gas Development Schemes during the present Government has been also approved.

Minister for Planning, Development, and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal gave presentation to the meeting on housing sector.

He presented various housing models for low and middle income segments on the occasion.

The meeting constituted a sub-committee headed by Minister for Housing to workout detailed plan on housing within ten days and present it in next Cabinet meeting. -Radio Pakistan
