Former president Asif Ali Zardari did not receive any invitation to attend the oath-taking ceremony of newly-elected US President Donald Trump on January 20, Secretary General of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP), Senator Farhatullah Babar said this while talking to Business Recorder, here on Friday.
He said that Asif Ali Zardari did not receive any invitation so far to attend the inauguration ceremony of newly-elected US President Donald Trump.
"I cannot say if Asif Ali Zardari will receive any invitation tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, but so far no invitation received in this regard," he said. However, according to the reports, Zardari will attend the inauguration ceremony of Trump.
The report further said that Zardari has been invited to the ceremony by the United States government, which he accepted and he will leave for the US next week.
The former president will be accompanied by a delegation, which will include former Pakistani Ambassador to the US Sherry Rehman, former Interior Minister Rehman Malik and other party leaders. It is also said that the former president will proceed to France from the United States after attending Trump's ceremony.
