The foreign ministry said Karzai will be in India at the invitation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh whom he will meet on Tuesday. This will be Karzai's second visit to India this year.
Earlier, PM Singh visited Kabul in May when he announced India's support for the ongoing reconciliation process in Afghanistan.
Karzai will also deliver the 3rd R K Mishra Memorial Lecture organized by the Observer Research Foundation on October 5. He is expected to brief Singh about the review of strategy to deal with the Taliban
Karzai has indicated he is reviewing his strategy for making peace with the Taliban, and has voiced frustration with the failure to establish contact with senior Afghan Taliban leaders like supreme leader Mullah Mohammad Omar and stressed the need for talks with Pakistan.
Karzai is expected to consult Singh on ways to bring peace and stability to his violence-torn country. India and Afghanistan are expected to firm up a strategic partnership agreement that was envisaged in the May 12 joint declaration during Singh's Kabul trip. The strategic pact is aimed at bolstering cooperation against international terror and could include India training Afghan security forces for counter-terror operations.
