Torn letter emerges as key evidence in Karachi triple murder case
Police investigating the alleged triple murder in a flat in Gulshan-e-Iqbal on Tuesday recovered a torn letter from the residence’s garbage bin, which has been declared a crucial piece of evidence in the case.
Three women were found dead under mysterious circumstances in a residential flat in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 1, while a man discovered unconscious at the scene remains under treatment, police said on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Samina, Samreen and Maha.
During a search operation, police recovered the fragmented letter, believed to have been discarded intentionally.
Authorities are probing whether the letter was written by the daughter or by someone else on her behalf.
Additionally, police found another letter in the pocket of the house’s head, Iqbal, which he reportedly kept in his possession to indicate contact points in case of his death.
Iqbal told investigators that his wife, daughter, and daughter-in-law died in his presence, while his son, Yaseen, had taken several pills and was nearly dead in front of him.
Investigators revealed that Yaseen had two wives, who were related to each other, and that he faced millions of rupees in debts alongside allegations of fraud in Lyari.
Authorities suspect that Yaseen ingested a smaller amount of pills to survive, suggesting that both Iqbal and Yaseen are central figures in the case.
Both men are currently in custody as suspects, while the investigation at the flat continues and further evidence is being collected to unravel the circumstances of the triple killing.
