Cold wave persists in Karachi as temperatures plummet to 8 degrees Celsius in northern areas

Karachi is currently experiencing a cold wave, with the temperature dropping to 13 degrees Celsius, according to the Meteorological Department.

The forecast indicates that maximum temperatures may reach between 26 and 28 degrees Celsius. Northeastern winds are blowing at a speed of 8 kilometers per hour, while the humidity level stands at 35 percent.

The city’s air quality is classified as hazardous, with Karachi ranking 14th among the most polluted cities globally.

The concentration of particulate matter in the air has been measured at 151 micrograms per cubic meter.

Residents are facing cold and dry weather, accompanied by light fog during the mornings and nights.

The Meteorological Department predicts that this cold and dry spell will continue for the next 24 hours, with moderate temperatures expected throughout the day.

Yesterday, daytime temperatures were recorded at 25.4 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature last night dropped to 13.5 degrees Celsius.

Jinnah Terminal recorded a temperature of 13.2 degrees Celsius, while Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Shahrah-e-Faisal reported temperatures of 13.5 degrees and 14 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Mauripur and Bin Qasim also recorded 13.5 degrees Celsius.

Today, the maximum temperature is anticipated to fall between 26 and 28 degrees Celsius, with winds continuing to blow from the northeast at 12 kilometers per hour and humidity at 31 percent.
